We live in the Pacific Northwest.  Yes… it rains up here quite often and coming from sunny Southern California I never thought I would fall in love with Seattle but I was wrong.  We enjoy the four seasons and drag the winter in anticipation of a colorful spring, the most beautiful summers and the embrace of fall.  I don’t miss the smog and the Santa Ana winds but I do miss grilling outdoors in my shorts in the middle of January, family and great friends.

We moved here in 2004 to be closer to my parents and to slow down the pace of life, enjoy nature and welcome new possibilities.  It has been one great adventure after another in and out of the PNW.  That’s why we started this blog, to catalog our planned and spontaneous activities and share whatever memories we can capture on our cell phones and SLRs.  We hope you enjoy them and maybe entice you to someday visit those places or compare notes if you’ve already done so.

When I chose the blog’s name, I got funny looks from my family and comments like “Sounds like a cult blog…” or “Sounds like a blog for wedding vows…”.  Whatever!  I like it so I’m sticking to it.  After I explained why I chose “We Gather Here” it made sense to everyone.  So here it goes…

This blog is about our adventures – from neighborhood parks to State parks, hole in the wall to fine dining, breweries to wineries, from the tropics to Alaska… places to go, food to eat, things to do & people to meet… where people gather.
