Kauai, the Garden island of Hawaii – Day 5

Day Five… Port Allen Sunset Grill & Bar and Sunset dinner cruise along the Napali Coast via Capt. Andy’s Sailing Adventures.

Memorable appetizer at the grill was the blackened shrimp topped with a glaze made of butter and sweet chili sauce.  I could have had 10 more of those but I’m glad I left room for the mud pie.  The grilled ahi I ordered was cooked to perfection.  FYI:  They provide live entertainment in the evenings.

Capt. Andy’s Sailing Adventures was the highlight of this vacation.  It was a six hour snorkel and sunset dinner cruise along Kauai’s beautiful Napali coast that left me with more information than what I was prepared for.  The crew was wonderful, very informative and had great knowledge of the history of Kauai.  Drinks were unlimited (both alcoholic and non), bring your own water though.  Dinner was delicious and more than enough as you can go back for seconds, thirds…

We sat in front on the trampoline area and were tossed about three feet in the air every time the catamaran hit a big wave.  I felt like a kid again!

Then we saw about three pods of very playful dolphins.  This was a surprise, even to the crew as they are usually out in the morning.

As we sailed along the Napali coast, I could not get over the beauty and history of these cliffs.

I can’t say the sunset was the main event, because every turn was a surprise between the dolphins and views but it sure was a big jewel on the crown.

This is worth every penny and if you don’t mind the rough seas, lots of food, drinks till your bladder can’t take it, magnificent views and a glorious sunset… add this to your list of things to do.

It really does. These photos do not even come close to represent the majestic feel it exhudes.
